FINGERPRINTS - 15 Years Later is a 25 episode TV series which depicts life in the communities where war crimes were cimmitted. To what extent war crimes affect everyday life? Do they burden people's relationships? How much do people talk about them?
FINGERPRINTS - 15 YEARS LATER won „Erasmus EuroMedia Award 2007“ from the European Society for Education and Communication (ESEC) from Vienna.
The series was implemented with the support of the Embassies of Switzerland, Norway and United Kingdom in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The town of Foca suffered for years because of the sanctions imposed due to lack of war crime prosecutions. 15 years later, half of the pre-war citizens are not there anymore.

Doboj is a town with history. Actually, two histories. One, mediaeval, is used today to attract tourists. Knights and princesses from the 13th century still walk in the Doboj fortress. Another history, 15 years long, is still a taboo.

During the days when everything in Livno was either Serb or Croat, one friendship was strenghtening. Mislav protected Stevan's 9-month old son from retaliation and sent him, through an exchange, to his parents. In the 80's of last century Velika Kladusa was a town with incredible rate of development. In 1984 Agrokomerc export was three times higher than of the previous year. Nobody was unemployed. fifteen years after the conflict between the two Bosniak sides, children of the members of the defeated army are under cruel discrimination. War crimes are still unresolved. And only metal constructions are left behind the industrial colosus.
Sanski Most is a town where war crimes significantly marked the past of its citizens. In certain way, victims are all, regardless of their ethnic background. Does the past marked with war crimes burden citizens' present and future? What are the ways to overcome this social wound?
Besides its famous anti-fascist history, Prijedor during the last war got an infamous history marked with crimes. fifteen years later, that is the town with the largest number of indictees and war crime suspects. They still live normal lives besides their yesterday's victims.
When HVO forces in 1993 destroyed the Old Bridge in Mostar, almost all the ties of co-existence were cut. The town was split on two. One river bank belonged to Croats, another to Bosniaks. Fifteen years later, the Old Bridge connects the two sides again. How do the Mostar citizens deal with the remaining, invisible lines of division?
For Bratunac Bosniaks the last war was marked with murders, camps and expeling. Bratunac Serbs are dissatisfied because crimes against Serbs are overshadowed by those against Bosniaks. How can they find a common language now, 15 years later, and turn themselves to work and prosperity? Definitely not with current politicians - say both Serbs and Bosniaks.

During the peace negotiations in Dayton there was a great joust about Brcko - who will get the town on Sava river? Because of its strategic position and being the only BH port, both the BiH Federation and Republika Srpska wanted it. Fifteen years later, Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats want to live in Brcko. Salaries here are higher and schools are multiethnic.

The pre-war municipality of Prozor got one more name during the war - Rama. It also got a dark stain on its history - the crime against civilians in the Croat village of Uzdol, committed by members of the BiH Army. Fifteen years later, children here go to separate schools, youth goes out to different cafes, religious clerics do not communicate with each others and survivors of Uzdol still get only promises - that those responsible for murdering their families will be punished.

From Bosanska Krupa, which used to be a pretty and prosperous litle town, first Bosniaks and Croats were expelled. Several years after, it was Serbs' turn. At the territory of one pre-war municipality, there are two more municipalities today. Buzim in the BiH Federation and Krupa na Uni in the Republika Srpska. Three municipalities, three stories...

vlasenica, a pretty eastern-Bosnian town, remained without its Bosniak citizens during the war. Those who survived were expelled and their homes were occupied by Serbs from the Sarajevo region. Fifteen years later, there is no job for both Serbs and Bosniak returnees. The public kitchen works at full capacity. Even close friends do not discuss war topics and people of Vlasenica feel that the nationalism is widely spread among the youth. Fifteen years after the genocide, discussions are still ongoing - should Srebrenica take a breath of life, does it need culture and entertainment? Can Srebrenica turn to normal life despite the fact that not all the missing have been found and buried with dignity. People of Srebrenica chose life, unlike their curators of soul from the both entities. Ruthless media exploatation of Srebrenica burdens them. They are becoming aware that only their own initiative can lead them to a better life.

Before the war Croats were majority in Bosanski Samac. Fifteen years later, Samac is a predominantly Serb community. The Hague convicts live in the town again. Even though they served their sentences for crimes committed against non-Serbs in Samac, today they even run for candidacy for political positions. On the other hand, people are reluctant to talk about war crimes. However, they do return because - home is the prettiest place.

Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fifteen years ago its citizens were proud of the "Sarajevo spirit" and its good people. Mutual respect of religions, nations and different views. Fifteen years later, traces of the years of seige and destruction of the city are still fresh. There are two parallel Sarajevos. A growing number of dissatisfied citizens go out for public demonstrations. In one Sarajevo they demonstrate because of the widespread crime, in the other because of Kosovo. However, all of them are becoming aware that only those in power and criminals are doing well. Because of them war crimes against citizens of Sarajevo - Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks and others - are still a sensitive issue.
